PROGRAM NOTES
Commissioned by trumpeter Brian Chin, these songs are based on sensual poetry of sleeping and dreaming written by Fernando Pessoa. They are set in the original Portuguese. I used to sleepwalk as a young child, and I imagine now that if I had been able to describe those nights, these poems would be the words.
