Town Hall Seattle hosts a concert with composer and singer-songwriter Kaley Lane Eaton featuring her new chamber folk song cycle Maverick Granddaughter. Tom Baker opens for the night with a world premiere of Prairie, the first of three extended songs that will be a chamber-folk-operatorio entitled: The Idea of West - Prairie, Desert, Mountain.

A new work (in its final stages of becoming) - Shendos 15 will be premiered as part of the Bellevue College International Guitar Series with special guest performer Wu Fei, a singer and renowned master of the guzheng — the 21-string Chinese zither.

Two Seattle bands with deep ties to the city’s new and experimental music scenes, Tom Baker Quartet and Kin of the Moon, will present an evening of acoustic, improvised music to explore the mystical resonances of the Chapel Performance Space.

The Cornish faculty present new works and new ensembles and new possibilities. “Dreams of My Father” will be premiered at the concert. This work, for acoustic guitar (Tom Baker), bass (Kelsey Mines), and trumpet (Ray Larsen) is in three short movements based on recent dreams I have had about my father. At the new Raisbeck Auditorium (@ the Ivey).
A new sounds installation premieres and runs for the month of March, alongside (and inspired by) an amazing visual art-sculpture-video installation by Laura Newlon. Opening Reception: Friday March 1, 5-8PM. At the new Behnke Family Gallery At Cornish College of the Arts.
