Cedar is composer-vocalist-pianist-producer-singer-songwriter Kaley Lane Eaton’s debut solo project, an electro-chamber pop song cycle that is equal parts origin story and manifesto. Eaton’s orientation in both art song and ambient IDM, intertwined with the virtuosity of Seattle’s best improvisers, captures a distinct Pacific Northwestern aesthetic: tuneful beauty, solitude, and destructive noise. Featuring Tom Baker, Ha-Yang Kim, Heather Bentley, Leanna Keith, and Kayce Guthmiller.
Opener Kayce Guthmiller is a songwriter and violist native to Idaho, currently based in Seattle. They are a recent graduate of Cornish College of the Arts, where they had the support to create their debut album, “The Slow,” with mentorship from Dr. Kaley Lane Eaton and Heather Bentley. The project is a sparse, nostalgic homage to memory, isolation, and the sweetness of connection.
